NBA 2021 'a little too late' Offseason Recap: The Draft

So this is my 'a little too late' 2021 offseason recap. I had taken a break but I am back! The 2021 Draft: Even before the draft, in the morning, a BLOCKBUSTER trade happened. It seemed likely that the Lakers would trade for a shooter like Buddy Hield, but they traded for Russell Westbrook! Now, I am not a fan of this trade, but don't despise it either. This could create spacing issues, but this trade might just work out with their FA additions. Let's see. The trade was: Russell Westbrook,  2024 second-round pick , 2028 second-round pick to the Los Angeles Lakers for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell and pick 22 Now for the draft, the Pistons had the no. 1 overall pick, and made the obvious decision by picking Cade. This gets an A, because they did what they were predicted to, but not necessarily better than that. Next was Jalen Green picked by the Houston Rockets, gets an A+ because of the FANTASTIC performance by Green in the summer league. Up ne

Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Clippers Series Recap

Dallas Mavericks vs Los Angeles Clippers Series Recap Luka Doncic. More than Phenomenal. They have to have a big offseason. And then you have Kristaps Porzingis. He averaged less rebounds than Facundo Campazzo. Kristaps is 7 foot 3 and Facu is 5 foot 10. He has just been disappointing. And according to tradenba.com, he is the most trending player traded. Even I came up with a few packages for him. If you wanna check those out, just wait for a bit. They will probably be posted by tomorrow. Tim Hardaway Jr. has been good along with Dorian Finney Smith. But this team needs a legitimate co-star. Luka Doncic almost singlehandedly beat Kawhi Leonard and PG13, who are championship contenders. With a co-star like Damian Lillard or Kawhi, this team will be unstoppable. On the other hand, Luka just embarrassed the Clippers. But Kawhi and Paul George played well and the Clips certainly got Playoff P, not Pandemic P. Most of the games they just lost were because of their role players. And also, t

Atlanta Hawks vs New York Knicks First Round Series Recap

Atlanta Hawks vs New York Knicks First Round Series Recap Julius Randle, congrats on winning Most Improved Player. But, you just transformed into the most unimproved player in this series. I have to address another thing, I will be posting less of game recaps until I think they are special or elimination games cause every game is just too much to write a recap on. I will also be posting trade scenarios and offseason moves on tradenba.com . Moving on, Julius Randle shot 29.8% from the field. In the regular season, against the same team, he shot 58.8% from the field and averaged 37 points per game. And I think he had 2 40-point games as well. Not beating him up completely, it was only his first playoff series. He halved his field goal percentage in this series. What helped them push it to 6 was Derrick Rose and Alec Burks, the veterans. I never thought Alec Burks would be such a big part of this series. He scored 30 in a game and averaged 14 over the series.  RJ Barrett also averaged ju

Bucks sweep the Heat, taking a revenge for last year | Milwaukee Bucks vs Miami Heat Game 4 Recap

Image
Bucks sweep the Heat, taking a revenge for last year Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo. The 2 biggest disappointments of this year's postseason. Jimmy Butler, a person who carried this team to a Finals appearance last year, averaged 14.5 points on 29% FG% and was a -21.5 on the floor. Now to Bam, not too bad but just 15 points and 45.6% FG for a center who doesn't shoot 3s. He should have take the scoring load if Jimmy wasn't having a good series.  He was also -11.8 on the floor. Now, onto the Bucks, well they were pretty balanced with Giannis averaging 23.5 and Khris Middleton averaging 21. It wasn't as close of a series as expected and was the only sweep in the first round as the Wizards avoided a sweep. And, just a fun fact, Bryn Forbes scored more points in the series than Jimmy Butler. Led by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 20 PTS, 12 REB and Playoff career-high 15 AST, the No. 3 seed Milwaukee Bucks defeated the No. 6 seed Miami Heat, 120-103, in Game 4. Brook Lopez added a g

Trae Young says 'see you in Atlanta' after Knicks win in MSG | Atlanta Hawks vs New York Knicks Game 2

Trae Young says 'see you in Atlanta' after Knicks win in MSG Trae Young acts as a villain as the fans enjoy in MSG. A fan was banned indefinitely after she spat on Trae Young during a PANDEMIC. NBA players should be better protected. At this rate, just remove the courtside tickets as some Philly fan dropped popcorn on Russell Westbrook. Anyways, back to the game. Again, Julius Randle did not have the best of shooting nights and D-Rose starred. Reggie Bullock also stepped it up with 15PTS and 4 3PM. Trae Young had a good game but players like Clint Capela, John Collins and Gallinari did not play well.  Led by Derrick Rose’s 26 PTS, 4 REB and 4 AST, the Knicks defeated the Hawks, 101-92, in Game 2. Julius Randle added 15 PTS, 12 REB and 4 AST for the Knicks in the victory, while Trae Young tallied a game-high 30 PTS and 7 AST for the Hawks in the losing effort. Here are some takeaways: 1) Clint Capela and John Collins scored 4PTS and 0PTS respectively, wayyy below their season a

Milwaukee Bucks crush Miami Heat again | Milwaukee Bucks vs Miami Heat Game 3 Recap

Image
Milwaukee Bucks crush Miami Heat again Milwaukee crush Miami 113-84 with bad games from Jimmy Butler and a bad scoring game from Bam Adebayo. Giannis got a whopping 17 rebounds and Khris Middleton topscored. Jrue Holiday took the role of a playmaker and had 12 assists. This W makes the series 3-0 and this was a series that everyone thought would go to 6 or 7. Unless the Heat pull off a miracle, that is not gonna happen. For all we know, the Bucks might sweep them. This is definitely a better team from last year with 2 players shooting above 45% from 3 in Bryn Forbes and Bobby Portis, two new additions.  Led by Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 17 PTS, 17 REB and 5 AST, the Bucks defeated the Heat, 113-84, in Game 3. Khris Middleton (22 PTS, 8 REB, 5 AST) and Jrue Holiday (19 PTS, 12 AST) added 41 PTS for the Bucks in the victory, while Jimmy Butler tallied 19 PTS, 8 REB and 6 AST for the Heat in the losing effort. That is it for this recap. I am not usually going to have takeaways in 3-0 series

Ice Trae becomes the villain at MSG as Hawks snatch Game 1 | New York Knicks vs Atlanta Hawks Game 1 Recap

Image
Ice Trae becomes the villain at MSG as Hawks snatch Game 1 The energetic MSG crowd wasn't enough for the Knicks to beat Atlanta as "Ice Trae" hits the game-winning floater to silence the MSG crowd. It's surprising that the Knicks came close to beating the Hawks even with bad shooting nights for both RJ Barrett and Julius Randle. Well, it might be because, and I think Kenny over at Called Game said this, Alec Burks transformed into Klay Thompson in the 4th quarter as he scored 18 points in the 4th quarter. The Knicks rightfully said something mentioned in a tweet I've attached below. AB stands for "A Bucket" pic.twitter.com/9uaycuF68n — NEW YORK KNICKS (@nyknicks) May 24, 2021 The veterans came out to play as D-Rose and Alec Burks combined for 44PTS>  Here are some takeaways: 1) Of course, RJ and Julius have to play better. I am pretty sure Randle will play better in Game 2. 2) The veterans need to play like they are right now. Just continue this comb
